THE GROUP
A family business rooted in Lloret de Mar
Grup Frigola began operating in 1957. Since then it has grown around a simple idea: take care of every detail and think long term.
Today it brings hotels, restaurants and investment together under one brand, with a presence on the Costa Brava, the Costa Daurada and in Barcelona.
HISTORY
From 1957 to today
From a small house on Carrer Riera to a leading group in Lloret de Mar.
- 1956 The beginning Maria Bofill De Lamar leaves her grandchildren Salvador, Jordi and Rosa Frigola Galló a small house on Carrer Riera in Lloret de Mar, surrounded by vegetable gardens.
- 1957 Grup Frigola is founded Grup Frigola is established and the first Hotel Frigola is built, a modest building with only a few rooms. The hotel is extended in 1960.
- 1966 Gran Hotel Flamingo Gran Hotel Flamingo opens.
- 1971 A new Frigola The old Hotel Frigola is demolished and replaced by a new building.
- 1980s Expansion The Frigola brothers expand into Benidorm, Salou, Barcelona and the Dominican Republic.
- 1990s Consolidation The group consolidates its hotel business and expands its real estate investments.
- 2003 Izaka Hotel Management Izaka Hotel Management is founded, focused on hotel management and investment advisory.
- 2006 Hotel Barcelona Catedral Hotel Barcelona Catedral opens in the centre of Barcelona.
- 2011 A new generation Jordi Frigola Otín, son of Jordi Frigola Galló, becomes chairman of Grup Frigola, after his years at Jones Lang LaSalle Hotels.
- 2016 Hotel Delamar A major refurbishment turns Hotel Frigola into Hotel Delamar, an adults-only, 4-star superior urban beach hotel.
- 2018 Gran Hotel Flamingo Refurbishment of Gran Hotel Flamingo begins, consolidating the group's new concept.
- 2023 Gammarus Gammarus Restaurant & Beach Club opens in Cala Canyelles.
- 2024 2016–2024 plan The strategic plan is completed, with more than €28 million invested.
- 2026 CaixaBank Hotels & Tourism Award At FITUR, Jordi Frigola Otín receives CaixaBank's Hotels & Tourism “Leaders with a Star” award (Catalonia) for the transformation of the Delamar, the Gran Hotel Flamingo and Gammarus.
- 2026 Campbase Car Parks The group moves into car park investment and operation with the Campbase K1 and K2 car parks in Lloret de Mar.

Our hotel management company
Izaka understands hotels from a real estate investment perspective. It manages every hotel in the group on a long-term basis and offers third parties both long-term and short-term management, always from an owner's point of view: it knows the strategies and challenges involved in successfully developing and owning hotel real estate.

He leads Grup Frigola's investment, repositioning and diversification strategy, combining the family legacy with hotel innovation. Through Izaka he takes part in hotel investment, development, repositioning and management projects.
